Phoebe: I’m sorry, but sometimes they need help. Storyline #2: Phoebe and Ross’s great evolution debate. Ross: “’Cause she doesn’t hate Yanni,” is not a real reason. Phoebe: You name one woman that you broke up with for a actual real reason. He breaks up with girls for any minor flaw they might have (nostrils too big, head to big, Janice). Storyline #1: Chandler has serious dating issues. And his last act of vengeance against “the noisy girls upstairs” is to bequeath them with all his earthly possessions-no money and a junked up apartment to clean out. I mean, if a sandwich can have more than one meat a #FUF post can have more than one message, right? (Seeing as I’m a vegan, I’m not 100% sure on this but I’m going with “yes”!)Īs the title tells us, this is the episode where Heckles dies. I wrestled over which one to share like Joey wrestling over whether to put pepperoni or ham on his sandwich, and I went with Joey’s solution-both. While watching this episode, two main plot lines grabbed me. Happy friday! What better way to celebrate than with our favorite Friends? This week we are visiting season 2, episode 3, The One Where Heckles Dies. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”–which means, “God with us.” ~ Matthew 1:18-23 NIV But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Rather, maybe it’s time for us Christians to embrace both Old and New Testaments and celebrate with our Jewish friends. Perhaps Hanukkah and Christmas shouldn’t be two holidays celebrated by separate faiths. Maybe the Friends writers were onto something with this Holiday Armadillo. He came so that all who ever lived, were living, or would live could be saved and granted eternal life. Christ came for the past, the present, and the future. Can we say PotterWars #FUF? The thing is, so many times we Christians forget that Christ didn’t come to erase history-let alone his own culture. Another thing I love about this episode, is that Superman shows up and gets involved in learning about Hanukkah and celebrating Christmas.
